Bilingual Therapist Multicultural Counseling Center LLC seeks a Bilingual Therapist in West Jordan, Utah. Duties: 1) Provides counseling, therapy, and/or psychotherapy to clients and families as appropriate to the position; prepares treatment plans, discharge plans, and follow-up care programs; provides therapeutic crisis intervention and emergency services as required; 2) Collects data about patients through interview, case history, psychological tests, and/or observational techniques; evaluates data to identify causes of problems and to determine proper therapeutic approach or referral to other specialists; 3) Provides casework management of a specialized caseload, as appropriate to the requirements of the individual position; performs research and case assessments; prepares individualized studies for admission, placement, and/or discharge, as applicable; 4) Provides and/or arranges for therapeutic interventions as appropriate for patients or clients in a crisis condition and for those with serious disturbance problems; 5) Follows up to determine reliability and validity of treatment used; makes recommendations regarding modification to services and service delivery; 6) Consults with other legal and treatment agencies and individuals in relation to patient/client records, rights, and responsibilities; 7) Consults with other therapists and related professional and paraprofessional staff, as appropriate, in the performance of therapeutic and/or casework; refers clients to appropriate service agencies as required; 8) Participates in the review of clinical issues and program policies and procedures; 9) Participates in, leads, and/or coordinates training sessions and workshops to enhance treatment skills; 10) May lead paraprofessionals in performance of clinical duties; and 11) Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Requirements: Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or related, or its equivalent. 24 months’ experience as a bilingual therapist or closely-related occupation. Additionally, completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. 1) Possess a State of Utah issued certification or license as LPCC, LPC, CMHC, LMSW, LCSW, or equivalent level; 2) Certified in: (a) domestic violence treatment for victims and perpetrators; (b) at least one evidence-based treatment for substance abuse; and (c) couples’ therapy; 3) 2 years (24 months) of supervised experience; 4) 1 year (12 months) of experience working with courtordered clients; 5) Demonstrable proficiency in diagnosis and assessment write-up for clinical and court procedures; 6) Demonstrated ability to (a) communicate effectively in Spanish in a therapy setting; (b) apply mental health counseling methods and techniques; (c) evaluate the progress of therapeutic programs and to make individual modifications; (d) maintain emotional stability to cope with human suffering, emergencies, and other stresses; and (e) develop and present educational programs and/or workshops; 7) Demonstrable knowledge of (a) community mental health resources; (b) crisis intervention techniques; (c) clinical operations and procedures; (d) case management; (e) psychological test administration, scoring, and interpretation; and (f) legal and ethical issues related to patients' rights; 8) Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of (a) clinical counseling principles, programs, and methodology; and (b) clinical social work and mental health counseling principles, methods, procedures, and standards; and 9) Demonstrable knowledge of and proficiency in interviewing and psychological/developmental evaluation skills.
