MCC offers three different types of groups: therapy groups, psychoeducational groups and peer support groups.
Group therapy takes place with at least 5 members who share common experiences or symptoms. Group therapy can take place following a manual or through free format where the members of the group bring different experiences to be processed in group.
Group therapy is often offered weekly and lasts at minimum of 90 minutes. According to research group therapy is healing as it offers curative factors that are enhanced when sharing our experiences with other members of our community. Some of those curative factors are: a sense of universality "I'm not alone", altruism "By sharing my opinion, I'm able to help someone else", Catharsis "Getting things off my chest".
